Rejecting the ‘Single Story’

A TED video of Nigerian-American writer Chimamanda Adichie speaking about the need for diverse writers and writing. She puts it so eloquently the very same reason why I wanted to start this blog.

…When we reject the single story, when we realize that there’s never a single story about any place, we regain a kind of paradise.

On another note, Adichie’s Half of a Yellow Sun is currently on my summer list to read, thanks to BookDragon’s Terry Hong for the recommendation.

  1. This link just came through (a year later since your original post — so much for technology!). Thanks for the shout-out … I’ve got LOTS more recommendations on BookDragon when you’re ready for more, more, more. Always a good book just waiting to be read …
